Youth Golf in the Bay Area

The Bay Area makes golf unusually cheap to start. First Tee chapters provide free clubs and financial aid, Youth on Course turns a $60 annual membership into $5 rounds at municipal courses, and free junior instruction runs at public courses from Lake Chabot in Oakland to Poplar Creek in San Mateo. From there the path climbs through junior academies, JGANC tournaments, and high school golf toward the college-recruiting track.
